Taking a test can be a nerve racking experience at the best of times, but when you're a teenager and the result means whether you can get behind the wheel of a car or not, then it can be extremely stressful.

A Brisbane couple is looking to take some of the stress out of learning the road rules with a new interactive computer program. It not only makes it fun to learn the basics, but teenagers are finding the road rules also stick in their heads.

Any teenager with a driver's licence will tell you life doesn't get much better. Getting there in the first place can be a bit of an ordeal as 19 year old Ashley Kamholtz found out. Passing the written test to get his learner's proved difficult...so much so, he wouldn't tell us how many times he failed.

Jenny and Russell, Ashley's parents, developed Licence Quest knowing full well that teenagers, and boys in particular, can get bored reading the road rules booklet, they thought the logical answer was to make learning the road rules interactive. Licence Quest covers all the rules in a fun tutorial fom and recaps with questions as you go along. There's also a mock test similar to the real one you take when you go to get your learner's licence.

It worked for Ashley and it also worked for 18 year old Shannon Moriarty. She now has her drivers licence and the program not only helped her get it, but she feels like she's a better driver because of the program.

Licence Quest will also tell you the driving schools available in your area according to your postcode and give you details about exactly what they offer.

Licence Quest can be accessed via www.licencequest.com.au or on 3889 9260.
